Human Resources Director (HR Business Partner)
Location: Arkville, NY, in-person

As our HR Director, you will serve as a strategic HR Business Partner to the Executive Director and leadership team. You will have ownership of the HR function, balancing high-level culture building and change management with the vital architecture of compliance, payroll, and talent development. Key Responsibilities

  • Strategy & Culture: Partner with leadership on organizational design, process improvement projects, change management, and maintaining an engaged workplace culture.
  • Talent Management: Oversee the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management frameworks, and professional development.
  • Policy & Compliance: Ensure absolute legal compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws; advise managers on personnel matters and mitigate organizational risk.
  • Compensation & Payroll: Manage and maintain payroll, competitive benefits programs, and data-driven compensation structures.
  • Employee Relations: Serve as an objective coach and mediator to resolve issues and cultivate positive outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 10 years of progressive professional experience in Human Resources, with a proven track record in a senior or leadership role.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business/Public Administration, or a related field. HR Certification (SHRM-SCP/SPHR) or a Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Skills: Deep knowledge of labor laws, demonstrably strong communication, interpersonal and coaching skills, strong strategic thinking, and proficiency in data analysis/MS Office.

Job type: Full-time, Exempt

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm, 37.5 hour work week.

Compensation: $80,000 – $90,000 per year

  • 403(b) Retirement Savings Plans: generous employer contribution (7.5% of gross salary) and additional dollar-for-dollar, $3,000 per annum match.
